Vaginal discharge is white and lumpy, what's the reason?

Patient's question:

I went to the hospital for a check-up and found out I have vaginitis. The doctor prescribed vaginal lavage + tinidazole suppositories, 10 times. After completing the treatment, I noticed that besides the condition that had already started before treatment, the vaginal discharge was white and in small pieces. This was only discovered during sexual intercourse, where there were many white sticky pieces inside. What could be the reason for this?

Doctor's answer:

Hello, it is likely caused by inflammatory secretions and the effects of medication! After confirming the diagnosis, treatment should be implemented based on different pathogens. For candidal vaginitis, nystatin suppositories can be inserted vaginally. For trichomoniasis, metronidazole should be taken orally. For haemophilus vaginitis, ampicillin can be used with anesthesia. Generally, the medication is taken for 7 days as a course.
Since these pathogens can sometimes also infiltrate the male urethra, and transmission from males is often asymptomatic, it is easily overlooked. After the female has recovered, the infection can be transmitted back to her through sexual intercourse. Therefore, during the treatment of vaginitis in the female, sexual activity must be strictly prohibited.
