Increase in postoperative bleeding volume with bright red blood flow is normal?

Patient's question:

On the first day after surgery, the amount of bleeding was similar to that of menstruation, but the color was white. From the third day, it decreased and continued until the sixth day when it turned into pinkish-yellow discharge. It basically stopped, but on the seventh day, the bleeding amount decreased again and was more than the usual menstrual flow, with a bright red color. Today is the eighth day. Is this normal?
Past treatment history and effectiveness: After surgery, I took a box of Cefixime dispersible tablets.
What assistance is needed: Do I need to take any other medication or undergo a check-up at the hospital?

Doctor's answer:

General vaginal bleeding after a miscarriage usually lasts for 5 to 7 days.
Advice: Hello, regarding your current symptoms, it is recommended not to take medication randomly. Instead, you can visit the hospital for an ultrasound examination to check if the miscarriage has been completely cleared. If it hasn’t, a Dilation and Curettage (D&C) procedure may be necessary. Avoid sexual activity and cold foods for at least one month after the miscarriage. Rest well and take care of yourself.
I wish you good health. Taking care of any illness requires maintaining a stable mindset, as a healthy mental attitude is highly beneficial for both the treatment and prevention of diseases.
