Features: The reading comprehension section in the Japanese Language Proficiency Test (JLPT) is relatively difficult and carries a high weight in the exam. Many candidates, despite practicing a lot of exercises for preparation, still struggle with this section and may even fail the test as a result. The reasons for this include insufficient vocabulary or weak grammar skills, but another significant factor is the failure to master reading strategies and problem-solving techniques. The reading comprehension questions feature passages of varying lengths, genres, and content, but they all follow certain underlying patterns in their question formulation. The purpose of this book is to identify these patterns through the analysis and organization of recent years' actual exam questions, combined with the authors' extensive experience in tutoring candidates. It aims to clarify these patterns and propose corresponding problem-solving methods for reference by. We believe that these methods and techniques are highly targeted, concise, and easy to learn. Learners can use them to quickly identify key words, understand the underlying logic of the questions, and thus arrive at the correct answers. We also hope that this book will help candidates move beyond the of "mindless practice" and achieve twice the result with half the effort. This book has the following distinct features:
1. Emphasizes reading methods and problem-solving techniques
2. Selects materials suitable for general exam requirements,
3. Reveals the key constraints on reading proficiency and summarizes
4. Provides in-depth analysis of complex sentence structures in reading passages
To enhance the of exam-oriented reading, this book includes an excerpt summary and subheadings before each example passage. The excerpt summaries focus on introducing the content of the selected passages and highlighting key practice points. The added subheadings are not originally part of the exam questions and are not guaranteed to appear in future exams. Readers are advised to pay attention to this. At the same time, to avoid making the subheadings additional hints that could lower the reading difficulty, the book strives to ensure that the subheadings are not summaries or hints for the passages. As a result, some subheadings may seem distant from the original content. The materials used in this book are partially derived from past reading comprehension questions of the corresponding JLPT levels and partially excerpted from original works in Japanese newspapers, magazines, and books. The specific sources of the selected passages are indicated as much as possible.
