Features: Li Hui, male, Han nationality, from Hu County, Shaanxi Province. Born in February 1927, he has been fond of painting and folk art since childhood. In 1945, he enrolled in the Fine Arts Department of Shaanxi Province Technical and Art Normal College, studying Chinese painting under masters Hou Youke, Yuan Baitao, and Zhao Wangyun, and devoted himself to the study of landscape painting. In 1947, after graduation, he taught at Zhenhua Middle School. He once held a joint Chinese painting exhibition with his close friend Mao Yaling. In July 1949, he joined the Northwest Military and Political University and was transferred to the army to engage in cultural work and stage design. In 1952, he fought in the Korean War, serving as a battlefield propagandist for the troops. He held positions such as a troupe member, artistic creator, and political commissar of the county people's armed forces. In 1976, he transferred to Shaanxi People's Fine Arts Publishing House, serving as the director of the fine arts album editing department, a senior editor, and a member of the China Fine Arts Association. He is skilled in Chinese landscape painting and horse painting. His landscape paintings are bold and expressive, with a majestic and elegant style; his horse paintings are powerful and spirited, with a grand and imposing. His major works include "Comrade He Long and the Border Defense Militiamen" and "Red Forest," which participated in the second and third national military art exhibitions. "Ruan Shuzhen," "Horseback Chase and Capture," and "Underground Grain Storage" were successively selected for national art exhibitions and published by People's Fine Arts Publishing House and Hebei Fine Arts Publishing House. They were collected by the Chinese History Museum and the Tianjin Art Museum. In recent years, many of his works have been exhibited in provincial and municipal art exhibitions and have been displayed in countries such as Canada and the Philippines. His co-edited works include "The Terracotta Army of the Mausoleum of the First Emperor of Qin," "The Stone Carvings of the Tang Shangshu Mausoleum," and "China's Treasures—Terracotta Figures," published by Shaanxi People's Fine Arts Publishing House and Hong Kong Wanhai Publishing House. He has edited many large-scale albums and has won national, regional, provincial, and first, second, and third prizes.
