Features: The Caojiao Fanzi is an ancient martial arts style. The renowned martial artist Li Ruidong (Nose Li, 1851-1917) once wrote in the preface to his Taijiquan Pu (Taijiquan Anthology): "From my childhood, I had a fondness for martial arts, but unfortunately, I did not encounter a master teacher. Later, I was fortunate to meet the venerable Li Laosha from Raoyang, who became my mentor and guide, allowing me to gain some clarity. He was a practitioner of Caojiao, and recently, the Caojiao style was highly regarded in all the towns and villages. Those who heard of it were filled with fear." This was during the late Qing Dynasty. It was the master-disciple Wu Binlou (1899-1977), a senior student of Wei Zankui, who truly established Caojiao Fanzi in Beijing, making it one of Beijing's major martial arts styles and forming a tripartite alliance with Hebei Caojiao and Northeast Caojiao. The three of us are all internal disciples of Master Wu Binlou. Since entering the school, we have served our master for over a decade until his passing. During this time, we received much guidance from him. In addition to mastering the principles and techniques of Caojiao Fanzi, we also assisted him in organizing materials, writing articles, and coaching new disciples. To help readers understand the true essence of Caojiao Fanzi, we have summarized and compiled the teachings passed down from our master into this book, hoping it will be of assistance to martial arts enthusiasts and researchers, and provide a platform for exchange with fellow practitioners of Caojiao Fanzi.
