The Russian composer Tchaikovsky was born on May 7, 1840, in Vochinsk, Russia, and died on November 6, 1893, in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the age of 53. Tchaikovsky was not born into a musical family; he studied French and German from the age of 4 to 8. Even so, he was still a child with a special sensitivity to music. At the age of 10, he followed his parents' advice to study at the St. Petersburg Law School. At the age of 14, his mother's death became the turning point for Tchaikovsky to infuse music into his work. Although he was still engaged in legal work, he had no intention of giving up music. At the age of 21, he entered a music school, and at the age of 23, he gave up his legal work and formally studied composition with a music teacher. Tchaikovsky strengthened his exchanges with the "Five Composers" led by Balakirev, consisting of Russian composers Borodin, Glinka, Mussorgsky, and Rimsky-Korsakov. This was also the time when the center of ballet shifted from Italy to Russia. Between the ages of 28 and 38, Tchaikovsky composed famous works such as "Swan Lake," "Nocturne," and "Evgeny Onegin." Afterward, Tchaikovsky resigned from his position at the conservatory and spent half of each year abroad and half of the year in his villa in Russia, composing works such as "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Nutcracker." At the age of 53, just after the premiere of his "Symphony No. 6 in B minor," Tchaikovsky left this world. The cause of his death remains unknown. Representative works: Symphony No. 6 in B minor "Pathétique" (1893), Ballet "Swan Lake" (1875–1876), sentimental waltz (1882), Ballet "Sleeping Beauty" (1888–1889), Ballet "The Nutcracker" (1891–1982)
