Publish Date: 2004-05-14
Features: This book is meticulously compiled based on the newly announced "National Master's Degree Entrance Unified English Examination Syllabus (Non-English Majors)" (hereinafter referred to as "the Syllabus"). It aims to help candidates master the words prescribed in the Syllabus and the extra-Syllabus words that have appeared in recent exams within a relatively short period. The book's features are as follows:
1. Comprehensive Coverage. The book is compiled according to the Syllabus and covers almost all the words in the Syllabus (excluding some extremely simple words). Additionally, it incorporates 2,289 extra-Syllabus words, including those that have appeared in the past ten years' postgraduate entrance exams, to further expand the word coverage, making the book more comprehensive and practical, and striving to include all extra-Syllabus words in the 2005 exam.
2. Concise Explanation and Practice. The book focuses on words that candidates find difficult to memorize and understand. For more challenging words (mainly verbs), it provides example sentences, while for simpler words, it omits them to save candidates' time.
3. Convenient and Practical. The book provides International Phonetic Alphabet (IPA), word formation rules, a small number of example sentences, word and phrase lists, synonyms and their distinctions, as well as tables of irregular English verbs, English word stress rules, and English pronunciation rules. These contents greatly assist candidates in quickly mastering words. The author of this book has dedicated years to researching postgraduate entrance exam vocabulary, and the "Postgraduate Entrance Exam English Vocabulary Review Guide" he wrote has become the preferred vocabulary study material for candidates. This book is based on that work, aiming to create another top-quality vocabulary resource for postgraduate entrance exams.
