With over half a century of practice, he has gradually entered the realm of calligraphy art and become a well-respected calligrapher in China. He is skilled in all five styles of calligraphy—regular script, running script, cursive script, and clerical script—and is particularly renowned for his regular, running, cursive, and clerical scripts. His calligraphy works possess both profound traditional craftsmanship and a contemporary spirit with individual charm. His works in various styles have been selected multiple times for national and international authoritative exhibitions. Many of his pieces have been collected, published, or engraved at prestigious cultural landmarks such as Zhongnanhai, Peking University, People's Art Magazine, and scenic spots in Beijing, Shandong, Shanxi, Henan, Zhejiang, Anhui, Fujian, and Liaoning.
Fan Xiyi is humble, studious, and possesses a simple and natural temperament. He focuses solely on cultivation without seeking fame. He quietly climbs the heights of art and philosophy. At the same time, he takes it upon himself to inherit and promote traditional national art, enthusiastically nurturing the younger generation, dedicating his heart and soul to the prosperity and development of calligraphy in his city and promoting a new generation of talent. He is currently a member of the China calligraphy Association, a first-class national fine arts master, a visiting professor at Shanxi Normal University, and the president of the Linfen calligraphy Association. He previously served as the vice president of the Shanxi calligraphy Association and was honored with the title of "Expert with Outstanding Contributions" and special government subsidies by the State Council in 1993.
