Patient's question:
I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Is surgical treatment necessary for endometrial hyperplasia?Doctor's answer:
Endometrial hyperplasia is clinically manifested as functional uterine bleeding, with the main symptoms being irregular menstruation, prolonged menstrual periods, and excessive menstrual flow. The majority of patients experience recurrence during menopause or adolescence. Its recurrence is related to excessive estrogen secretion by the ovaries and a lack of progesterone. The irregular uterine bleeding in endometrial hyperplasia is caused by anovulation due to ovarian follicles. Due to the continuous secretion of estrogen by the ovaries, on one hand, it leads to endometrial hyperplasia, while on the other hand, it suppresses the secretion of follicle-stimulating hormone from the anterior lobe of the pituitary gland. Ultimately, the follicles undergo atrophy due to the lack of stimulation from follicle-stimulating hormone, resulting in a sudden increase in estrogen secretion.
