Features: The French violinist Mazas composed many duets and etudes for violin. Opus 36 is divided into three volumes: "Special Etudes," "Gorgeous Etudes," and "For Artists." This is an excellent and highly artistic etude series that includes various techniques for both hands, as well as many exercises focusing on vocal-style tone quality, timbre, and vibrato. When studying, it is essential to pay attention to integrating techniques with musical expression. Due to the development of violin performance science, the shortcomings of these etudes have become increasingly evident in training, primarily in terms of editing, such as bowing, slurring, fingerings, position choices, shifting methods, extended and retained fingers, dynamics, and accent marks, which are often outdated and unscientific. While students can learn various techniques through these etudes, the aforementioned flaws may unconsciously cultivate many unscientific habits, posing significant difficulties for future learning. For these reasons, I have revised and edited this as much as possible according to scientific playing methods, ensuring it retains both training and practical value. This helps learners not only master various techniques but also adopt scientific playing methods and develop a scientific mindset. In some parts of the score, two types of fingerings are marked—these are alternative choices and should not be mixed.
