How to treat candidal vulvovaginitis after getting it

Patient's question:

Pain during urination, increased vaginal discharge, still have a bad odor even if washed with clean water every day. How should I treat it after getting candidal vaginitis?

Doctor's answer:

The treatment for candidal vulvovaginitis includes:
1. Using a 2%–4% baking soda solution to rinse the vagina once or twice daily, with 2 weeks constituting one course of treatment. After rinsing, dry the external genitalia and maintain them dry to inhibit the growth of Candida.
2. After rinsing, insert nystatin tablets deep into the vagina once nightly, with a dosage of 50,000–100,000 units per time, for a course of 7–10 days. Alternatively, you may also apply Daktarin cream to the external genitalia simultaneously.
