How can one not be affected after having uterine hypertrophy?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. Please advise on how to treat uterine enlargement.

Doctor's answer:

Hypertrophic uterus refers to a condition where the uterus is uniformly reduced in size, with a muscular layer thickness exceeding 2.5 cm, accompanied by varying degrees of uterine bleeding. In multiparous women, frequent menstruation with consistent uterine reduction, normal or thickened endometrium (with isolated polypoid formations in some cases), and normal pathological findings in most cases (with fibrosis observed in a very small minority), can confirm the diagnosis of hypertrophic uterus. It is important to differentiate it from uterine fibroids, especially when the fibroid is a single intramural or submucosal type. When the uterine body is uniformly reduced, it can be difficult to distinguish from hypertrophic uterus. Dilation and curettage (D&C) and ultrasound examination can help with diagnosis.
Chinese medicine treatment can control excessive menstruation and stabilize overall health; androgen therapy can increase bleeding volume. For patients who do not respond to conservative treatment, total hysterectomy may be considered. For women under 50 with normal ovaries, preservation of the ovaries should be prioritized.
