Patient's question:
Is it possible to get pregnant with hydrosalpinx? Upon discovering that I have hydrosalpinx, but my abdomen hasn't been pregnant, how should this interference with conception be treated? Is it possible to get pregnant with hydrosalpinx?Doctor's answer:
Hydrosalpinx is a relatively common type of chronic tubal inflammation. After tubal inflammation, or due to adhesion and self-locking, the secretory fluid of the mucosal cells accumulates in the lumen. Alternatively, if tubal inflammation occurs again, adhesion of the isthmus and fimbriae may block the tube, forming tubal abscess. When the pus cells in the lumen are digested, a watery liquid is eventually obtained. In some cases, the fluid is digested, leaving an empty shell, which appears as a hydrosalpinx shadow during imaging.Patients with hydrosalpinx who show no obvious symptoms and have no fertility advice can be carefully observed and followed up without the need for treatment. However, if fertility advice is given, surgical treatment is the best option. Traditional surgical methods include fimbrioplasty, tubal fenestration, or pelvic adhesion release.
