Features: Czech Advanced Reading is part of the reform project for the advanced Czech language program at Beijing Foreign Studies University. It is also one of the core textbooks for undergraduate students entering advanced-level studies, developed based on the previously published Basic Czech. The content of this textbook is primarily selected from various types of Czech texts, including speeches, popular science articles, newspaper reports, interviews, plot summaries, book reviews, and legal texts. The Chinese selections are either translated from Czech originals or revised by foreign experts. In terms of grammar, the textbook focuses on Czech word formation, syntax, rhetoric, and some aspects of written language grammar, along with exercises. Some materials were referenced from the Czech Language textbook previously written and published by Professor He Lei of our department.
