Patient's question:
I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially around my period days. I'm very worried it might affect fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. How can I distinguish between increased vaginal discharge during ovulation and increased vaginal discharge in the early stages of pregnancy?Doctor's answer:
The ovulation period generally occurs in the middle of the menstrual cycle. During the mid-cycle, when the ovaries are about to menopause, the cervical glands secrete profusely, leading to an increase in leukorrhea (vaginal discharge) which becomes more abundant, translucent, slightly viscous, and resembles egg white in texture. Sometimes, it can be stretched into long strands. Two to three days after menopause, the vaginal discharge becomes cloudy, thick, and less in quantity. If pregnancy occurs, the amount of leukorrhea generally does not decrease; instead, it becomes more viscous than during the ovulation period.
An increase in leukorrhea is a common gynecological condition. During medication, women should pay close attention to self-care, especially in terms of hygiene. Patients should avoid sexual activity during treatment and maintain good cleanliness. Finally, we wish female patients a speedy recovery!
