How to treat and improve candidal vulvovaginitis in the early stage?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. How should I treat and improve candidal vulvovaginitis in its early stages?

Doctor's answer:

Candidal vulvovaginitis is a common type of vaginitis, primarily caused by Candida albicans. This fungus normally resides in the vagina. When the vaginal sugar levels increase and the acidity rises, the fungus rapidly adapts, leading to inflammation. It is more common in pregnant women, diabetic patients, and those receiving extensive estrogen therapy. Long-term antibiotic use can disrupt the mutual inhibitory relationship between vaginal microorganisms, allowing the fungus to proliferate and cause infection.
Treatment: Wash the external genitalia or soak in a 1:5000 potassium permanganate solution. Apply a 2% gentian violet solution locally. In recent years, nystatin has shown significant efficacy.
Usage: Insert a 100,000 U vaginal suppository twice daily (morning and evening) for 5 days. Wash the external genitalia and apply nystatin ointment (10,000 U/g) 2–3 times per day locally.
