How is it better to treat trichomoniasis?

Patient's question:

Hello, I have been feeling unwell recently and would like to consult about this disease. How can trichomoniasis be cured?

Doctor's answer:

Got trichomoniasis, enhance vaginal defense capabilities. After vaginal douching or at night, insert 200 mg of metronidazole into the vagina. A 10-day course is one treatment cycle. Alternatively, you can use one tablet of metronidazole or 200 mg of carbarsone inserted into the vagina. Precautions during treatment are to prevent re-infection. During the treatment period, underwear and hygiene utensils should be boiled and sterilized. Due to the high likelihood of recurrence after treatment, re-examination should be conducted 3 to 5 days after menstruation. Avoid sexual activity during treatment to prevent re-infection. If re-examination is not possible and symptoms reappear after menstruation, repeat the treatment. For cases that do not improve with treatment, check the urine or prostatic fluid of both the patient and their partner. If trichomonads are found, oral metronidazole treatment should be administered simultaneously.
