Features: This dictionary is based on the "Modern Chinese Common Characters List" promulgated by the National Language Work Committee and the National Education Commission, including 3,500 common Chinese characters. The characters in this dictionary are arranged in order of the Chinese phonetic alphabet. For characters with multiple pronunciations, several commonly used pronunciations are selected and marked. According to the characteristics of Chinese characters and the content and requirements of Chinese character teaching in primary and secondary schools, this dictionary provides the pronunciation, stroke count, radical, and structure for each included character. To meet the requirements of the calligraphy grading exams in primary and secondary schools, this dictionary accompanies each character with five standard calligraphy forms: regular script, running script, clerical script, cursive script, and seal script. To help readers identify traditional characters, simplified characters with traditional counterparts are accompanied by standard printed traditional characters. For easy reference, this dictionary includes a "Phonetic Index" and a "Radical Index" at the beginning. To facilitate teaching, it also includes appendices such as "How to Write Good Calligraphy," "Names of Chinese Character Strokes," and "Names of Common Chinese Radicals." Additionally, to assist readers in Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan in learning simplified characters and speaking Mandarin, it includes the "Hanyu Pinyin Scheme" and the "Zhuyin Fuhao Table."
