Features: Pathological diagnosis is the most important and final diagnosis in clinical medical practice, playing a decisive role in determining treatment plans and assessing patient prognosis. Therefore, cultivating qualified pathologists is of great significance. In Western countries, whether in the United States or Commonwealth nations, medical school graduates, including those with a PhD (MD), do not have medical licenses. They must complete five years of residency training in larger teaching hospitals and pass relevant exams to obtain a medical license, qualifying them for employment and starting their medical careers. For years, pathology residents in various hospitals across our province have been trained in basic theories, knowledge, and skills according to the requirements of the Provincial Health Department. Only those meeting the standards may be promoted to attending physician positions, standardizing this work. Under the leadership of the Provincial Health Department and in accordance with its unified requirements, we organized relevant pathology experts in our province to compile this "Three Basic Training Guide for Pathologists in Jiangsu Province," serving as a reference textbook for the cultivation of pathology residents. To become a qualified pathologist, solid clinical pathology practice and rigorous training are essential. We hope this book will be helpful in the three basic training for pathologists.
