The "Academic Hundred Schools Series" will be a grand project for the promotion of academic excellence. Like the vast seas that embrace a hundred rivers, academic discourse seeks to harmonize and judge. To accomplish this task, we rely on the support of scholars, translators, and readers from around the world, to offer valuable insights, to enrich scholarly writing, to refine emotions through reason and principle, and to jointly pioneer new horizons for the revival of Chinese civilization and the spread of world civilization, leaving an indelible mark on the lofty and noble glory of academia.
The creation of Chinese modern poetry and the exploration of poetic theory have gone through a long and winding path. In recent decades of searching, we looked to the former Soviet Union and found only models and formulas; we looked to the West and discovered that only by horizontally recognizing cultural and national roots and advancing positive poetic convergence could we find vitality. Moving further, we shifted from the collision between Chinese and Western poetics to the cultural context of the relationship between "local" and "global."
