Recommended by judges Wang Meng, Wang Anyi, Cao Wenxuan, Zhang Shengyou, etc. A story of the lives and deaths of people in a remote mountain village in Shandong, recorded by a "speaker" and woven together from fragments of life. They believe that life, death, joy, sorrow, and all emotions are forever in the hands of an invisible "." The "" sends "blue-coated figures" to act in the mortal world and constantly issues warnings to the people with a "loud" voice. The novel breaks the traditional linear narrative structure, integrating countless "fragments" in a disorganized yet cohesive manner, creating a unique narrative effect. The language is humorous and rustic, with characters full of individuality. The entire work carries strong symbolic meaning, and the ideas it conveys are even more worth pondering and reflecting upon.
