Features: Bing Xin, originally named Xie Wanying, was from Changle, Fujian. Born in 1900 in Fuzhou, she was a renowned modern Chinese female writer and children's literature author. Her other pen names include Bing Xin Lady, Bing Xin Sir, etc. Bing Xin's father was a naval officer with patriotic and reformist ideas. In a loving and affluent family environment, Bing Xin was exposed to a wide range of classical Chinese literature from a young age. In 1914, she entered the Beijing Church-affiliated school, Baiman Girls' High School. In 1918, she advanced to the science preparatory department of Union Women's University and later transferred to the literature department. In September 1919, she published her first work, "Two Families." Around 1921, she successively published concise and gentle poems such as "The" and "The Patient Poet" in the supplement of the Morning News. In 1922, "Starry Sky" and "Spring Water" were published in the supplement of the Morning News. These subtle and philosophical short poems were loved by people. Under the influence of Bing Xin, we entered an era of popularity for short poems. Morning dawn, flowing water, light rain, willows—these elements exist not because of the poet's presence but because they moved the poet's heart. What flows from the poet's pen are then beautiful songs. The warmth and vitality personified by the poet make the poet realize their mission. With deeper understanding, emotions become even more intense, like the twilight of summer or the lush branches of a locust tree. The poet more consciously embraces this mission, which is the reason for the existence of "Starry Sky" and "Spring Water," and also the goal they strive to achieve.
