Features: The content of this book is divided into five parts, exemplifying the connections between certain thematic stories and Buddhist stories. It focuses on how Chinese authors transform foreign elements into local culture, innovating and renewing traditions. The second part consists of one article, explaining the transformations of the Eight Immortals and their origins. The third part includes five articles, detailing the use of various objects in Confucianism, Buddhism, Taoism, and among high-ranking individuals and society at large, along with the special meanings they embody. It must be noted that this manuscript aims for popularization rather than being a collection of advanced academic papers. We have referenced the most important materials we could gather. Just like arranging a room—furniture, bedding, tables, chairs, calligraphy and paintings, lamps, and so on—all are purchased. A few items are handmade by the author. However, the artistic design of the interior is the author's own. In today's "knowledge explosion" era, there must be many materials we have not seen. Therefore, we no longer list a reference bibliography!
