Patient's question:
Female, pelvic pain, abnormal vaginal discharge, irregular menstruation with very heavy flow. Can endometritis heal on its own?Doctor's answer:
Endometritis can be divided into tuberculous and non-tuberculous types, and it is an important factor leading to infertility. Acute endometritis is often caused by cross-infection during childbirth or during intrauterine or uterine surgery. If the treatment is incomplete or untimely, it may become chronic. It is characterized by congestion, edema, and inflammatory exudates in the endometrium, and may even form ulcers. Common symptoms include increased leukorrhea, purulent blood discharge, foul odor, lower abdominal pain, and lower back pain. It can progress to conditions such as uterine myitis, tubo-ovarian abscess, pelvic peritonitis, pelvic connective tissue inflammation, sepsis, and bacteremia.
