Features: In the face of new domestic and international situations, how can the People's Courts keep pace with the times, fulfill their judicial functions, legally protect intellectual property rights, promote technological innovation and scientific and technological progress, provide judicial guarantees for the Party and the state's strategy of revitalizing the country through science and education, and achieve new leaps in enriching the people and strengthening the nation? This is one of the important tasks facing the People's Courts. To accomplish such a daunting and significant task, it is essential to strengthen the political education and professional training of judges in intellectual property adjudication, improve their political and professional qualities, continuously acquire new knowledge, study new situations, solve new problems, and create new experiences. In this regard, the Guangxi High People's Court organized a highly influential "Intellectual Property Protection Training Course." Invited speakers included Wu Handong, President of Zhongnan University of Economics and Law; Wang Liming, Vice Chairman of the Financial and Economic Committee of the National People's Congress and Vice Dean of the Law School of Renmin University of China; Jiang Zhipei, Director of the Third Civil Court of the Supreme People's Court; Luo Dongchuan, Deputy Director of the Third Civil Court of the Supreme People's Court; Yin Xintian, Director of the Legal and Regulatory Department of the National Intellectual Property Administration; Wang Xuezheng, Director of the Trademark Bureau of the State Administration for Market Regulation; Xu Chao, Deputy Director of the Copyright Department of the National Copyright Administration; Wang Yi, Associate Professor of Peking University; and Zhu Xiequn, Ph.D. of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. They delivered lectures to intellectual property adjudication judges in Guilin, systematically covering relevant issues of the WTO's Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights and the legal system of intellectual property rights. This training attracted over 200 participants from courts, procuratorates, intellectual property administrative departments, and enterprises and institutions across the country, achieving remarkable results.
After all, the number of people who can attend the lectures in person is limited. To enable all those concerned with intellectual property rights to understand the insightful lectures by these renowned experts and scholars and to provide assistance for intellectual property adjudication work and academic research on intellectual property rights, the content of their lectures has been compiled and published. This is a beneficial contribution to the cause of intellectual property protection. I am delighted to write the preface for this book and recommend this work, which embodies the profound insights of experts and scholars on intellectual property protection, to everyone.
