Jin Yuan Quanzhen Sect Stone Inscriptions: A New Compilation

Author: Wang Zongyu

Publish Date: 2005-07-01
Features: The editorial quality of this book is far inferior to that of Daoist Inscriptions and Relics and other professional inscriptions and relics studies. The author has reviewed a large number of local gazettes, but there must still be omissions. During the process of reading local gazettes, the author obtained many clues from Complete Yuan Dynasty Writings edited by Mr. Li Xiusheng, and also benefited from it in the textual collation and identification of steles. The collected texts are arranged by provinces according to today's administrative divisions, aiming to help readers understand the development of the Quanzhen sect in various regions. There are some Ming Dynasty inscriptions in the book whose value lies in recounting historical facts of previous generations. A few entries are not stone inscriptions but are included for the convenience of readers. As for the entry "Lu's Record" from Shaanxi, which merely mentions the four words "Zhenren Changchun," it holds value due to its extremely early date.
