Patient's question:
Hydrosalpinx has been present for many years, and treatment has been ongoing throughout this period. Now that I am getting older, I really hope to have my own child as soon as possible, so I am quite anxious. Could you please advise on how to treat common hydrosalpinx?Doctor's answer:
Hydrosalpinx generally occurs after tubal inflammation or due to the accumulation of secretions from adhered mucosal cells within the lumen, or as a result of secondary adhesions and blockages at the isthmus and fimbriae following tubal inflammation, leading to tubal abscess formation. When the pus cells within the lumen are resolved, a watery liquid is formed. In some cases, the liquid is resolved, leaving behind a hollow shell, which appears as a hydrosalpinx shadow during imaging.Hydrosalpinx can lead to infertility, and even if pregnancy occurs, the poor condition of the fallopian tubes significantly increases the risk of ectopic pregnancy. Therefore, surgical treatment should be performed first. Laparoscopic fimbrial reversal debridement surgery can be considered, which may enhance the chances of pregnancy after the procedure.
The recurrence of hydrosalpinx poses a serious threat to women's health. Patients should avoid sexual activity during treatment and maintain good personal hygiene. Additionally, it is hoped that female patients can receive effective treatment.
