What are the simple methods to treat immunological infertility?

Patient's question:

Married for many years, I have been actively trying to conceive with my husband, but there has been no good news so far. I am very anxious. Could you please tell me some simple methods for treating immunological infertility?

Doctor's answer:

About 10% to 20% of infertility cases are classified as immunological infertility. The main treatment methods include:
(1) Barrier therapy: Women with sperm alloimmune infertility who use condoms for 3 to 6 months can prevent further stimulation of sperm antigens by the female. After the antibody titer decreases, unprotected intercourse during the ovulation period may lead to pregnancy.
(2) Immunosuppressive therapy: Corticosteroid drugs can be used to treat immunological infertility. For example, prednisone 5mg three times daily may be administered for two weeks before menopause. There are also reports of local vaginal application of hydrocortisone to treat infertile women with anti-sperm antibodies in cervical mucus. The reported pregnancy rates range from 20% to 45%.
