Features: Copying classic calligraphy is a fundamental task for every calligrapher. The first step in copying is to grasp the form, then gradually to capture the essence. As Dong Qichang once said: [When copying, it's like suddenly encountering an extraordinary person. You don't need to examine their ears, eyes, hands, feet, or face, but should observe their demeanor, laughter, and the true spirit that emanates from them.] While grasping the form is relatively easy, capturing the essence is difficult. However, capturing the essence does not mean imitating it in a vague or "intuitive" manner, which must be pointed out. Due to the passage of time, beginners often struggle to grasp the spirit of ancient stele calligraphy. To address this, we have compiled and published the works of renowned masters, hoping that through their understanding of ancient stele calligraphy, they can reveal its hidden spirit and inspire. This series is divided into five volumes: Volume 1: Seal and Clerical Script, Volume 2: Wei Stele Script, Volume 3: Bamboo and Silk Manuscripts, Volume 4: Cursive Script, Volume 5: Regular Script.
