How to treat infertility?

Patient's question:

I feel a persistent, dull discomfort in my lower abdomen. It's been several years, and I haven't been able to conceive. Maybe there's really a problem with my fertility. I'm very anxious. Could you please tell me: How is infertility treated?

Doctor's answer:

The symptoms of infertility in women are primarily manifested as follows:
1. Irregular menstruation: Menstruation may come earlier or later, with changes in menstrual flow volume. Excessive or insufficient menstrual flow; prolonged menstrual period; commonly seen in luteal phase dysfunction and endometrial inflammation.
2. Abnormal vaginal discharge: Recurrent symptoms such as increased vaginal discharge, yellow in color, with an odor, resembling curd-like or watery discharge, or accompanied by itching or pain in the external genitalia, may occur in cases of vaginitis, cervicitis, endometritis, adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and various sexually transmitted diseases. These conditions can all interfere with fertility to varying degrees.
3. Galactorrhea in women: Milk discharge from the breasts without lactation, either spontaneously or upon manual stimulation, often suggests hypothalamic dysfunction, pituitary tumors, prolactinomas, primary hypothyroidism, chronic renal failure, or may be caused by contraceptive pills or antihypertensive drugs such as reserpine.
