How should pelvic inflammatory disease be treated best?

Patient's question:

Recently, there has been an increase in leukorrhea with an odor, and lower abdominal pain with a sense of heaviness. After examination, it was diagnosed as pelvic inflammatory disease. How should pelvic inflammatory disease be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Hello friend. Pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which includes endometritis, salpingitis and oophoritis, pelvic connective tissue inflammation, and pelvic peritonitis, is one of the common diseases among women. PID is divided into acute and chronic forms. Acute PID occurs suddenly and is relatively severe, with patients experiencing varying degrees of chills, fever, and lower abdominal pain. At times, the urinary tract may also exhibit reactivity or control symptoms, such as dysuria, urinary frequency, and difficulty urinating. Chronic PID is often a result of acute PID not being treated thoroughly. The condition is usually more stubborn, often forming adhesions and abscesses in the fallopian tubes and ovaries, leading to adhesions with surrounding tissues. Anti-inflammatory drugs find it difficult to penetrate, making it hard to cure completely.
