It contains 305 poems from the early Zhou Dynasty (11th century BC) to the mid-Spring and Autumn period (6th century BC). Only a small selection is included here. The Rites selected five chapters. Among them, the "Liyun" discusses the concept of "the way of great unity, the world as one family" by the son of heaven, the ideal of a world without locks at night, and the "way of great unity having become hidden, the world becomes a family," as well as the Xiaokang era with its ritual systems. The Yellow Emperor's Inner Canon is divided into "Suwen" and "Lingshu," advocating "treating disease before it occurs" with a focus on prevention.
