Patient's question:
Going to the hospital for a leukorrhea test revealed trichomoniasis or candidiasis. Approximately how much will it cost?Doctor's answer:
Trichomoniasis. Caused by the blood-borne pathogen Trichomonas vaginalis, it is spread through sexual intercourse or indirect transmission. The main symptoms include vulvar itching, increased vaginal discharge, which is pale yellow and foamy, and in severe cases, the discharge may contain blood. There may also be a burning sensation, pain during intercourse, and if accompanied by urethral infection, symptoms such as frequent urination, painful urination, or even hematuria may occur. Treatment typically involves oral metronidazole and the insertion of Tinidazole suppositories into the vagina, with a course of 7–10 days. Additionally, 1% lactic acid solution can be used to rinse the vulva.
