Patient's question:
Hello doctor, I recently went to the hospital for a physical examination and found that I have uterine prolapse. I would like to know what are the causes of uterine prolapse.Doctor's answer:
Premature pregnancy, early marriage and conception, excessive childbirth, and relaxation of pelvic muscle tissues are the most important causes of this condition. Delivery-related injuries, such as those caused by dystocia, precipitate labor, the delivery of a large fetus, or surgical delivery, can all lead to excessive stretching and tearing of the tissues around the cervix, pelvic fascia, and main pelvic floor muscle fascia. Particularly when the cervix has not fully dilated and abdominal pressure is applied prematurely or when the aforementioned surgeries are performed, these supportive structures are severely damaged, weakening or losing their supportive function, which can result in recurrent uterine prolapse.
