Patient's question:
Increased secretions, abdominal pain, a sense of heaviness in the lower abdomen, confirmed to be caused by hydrosalpinx. I have fertility needs, and I'm not married yet. How should hydrosalpinx be treated?Doctor's answer:
The medical term refers to a relatively common type of chronic tubal inflammation. After tubal inflammation, or due to adhesion locking, the secretion of mucosal cells accumulates in the lumen. Alternatively, if tubal inflammation recurs, adhesion may occur at the isthmus and fimbriae, leading to blockage and the formation of tubal abscess. When the pus cells in the lumen are resolved, a watery liquid is ultimately obtained. In some cases, the liquid is resolved, leaving an empty shell, which appears as an hydronephrosis shadow during imaging. Surgical treatment can be employed, and it can be divided into open surgery and laparoscopic surgery.
