Author: Li Shihou
Publisher:
Publishing Date: 2005-06-01
Features: This photocopied family chronicle not only records the lineage and descendants of Zheng He but also documents his voyages, the officials and soldiers who accompanied him, the ships that sailed to the ocean, and the countries they visited. It particularly includes the edicts from the Yongle and Xuande emperors to Zheng He, which are not found in historical records. This family chronicle is another significant discovery following the stele of Zheng He's father, Mahajie, and it is also another work of great preservation and research value by the author after "A Study and Interpretation of the Zheng He Family Chronicle." The author consulted a vast amount of historical materials and conducted dedicated research, providing concise and clear annotations to the chronicle. The photocopied version was published as "A Photocopied Original of the Zheng He Family Chronicle with Annotations," finally allowing this precious historical material, which has endured the trials of time, to be preserved and passed down. Mr. Li Shihou (1909—1985) was one of the few authoritative scholars in China specializing in the study of Zheng He's lineage.
