Features: This book is divided into 10 chapters. The first seven chapters introduce general knowledge of fungi and various fungal diseases, with numerous slides included in each chapter. These slides can also be viewed on the accompanying CD-ROM and serve as teaching references. Additionally, each chapter's slides on the CD-ROM include self-assessment questions and answers. Chapter 8 is a comprehensive review, providing a series of slides and questions to test understanding of the book's content. Chapter 9 primarily covers the treatment of various fungal diseases and all relatively important antifungal drugs. The appendix of the book includes: fungal culture, fungal identification methods, preparation of media, staining techniques, various tables (to assist students in learning), references and books on medical mycology, and an introduction to sufficient materials needed to establish a complete medical mycology laboratory. Medical professionals with a basic understanding of mycological knowledge can use this book and its accompanying CD-ROM to deliver a comprehensive and detailed lecture on common and important fungal diseases in Asia. Both authors of the book have dedicated their lives to the research and teaching of fungal diseases. Dr. Glenn S. Bulmer lived and taught in the United States during his youth and later settled in Asia to engage in mycological education. Professor Zheng Yuechen has been involved in medical education and clinical work in China.
