What can be done about uterine polyps?

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. What can I do if I have uterine polyps?

Doctor's answer:

Treatment Plan: Different approaches are adopted based on the size, location, morphology of the polyps, and the patient's age.
1. For larger, pedunculated polyps that can be encountered or palpated in the lower uterine segment, the polyps can be removed by dilating the cervix, followed by cervical and uterine scraping to remove remaining polyps and send them for pathological examination.
2. For small, focal, or diffuse polyps, a D&C (dilation and curettage) procedure is performed. Attention should be paid to thorough scraping, especially at the fundus and cornual areas of the uterus.
3. After uterine surgery, anti-infection treatment should be administered. Clinical diagnosis may involve oral antibiotics or intravenous antibiotics.
4. For patients with significant erosion symptoms that do not improve with the above treatments or frequently recur, hysterectomy should be considered.
