Can I still get pregnant if I have a light menstrual flow?

Patient's question:

Menstrual volume is small, color is dark. Past treatment and effectiveness: Taken menstrual regulation medicine, but it didn't work. Does it affect pregnancy? How should it be treated?

Doctor's answer:

Menstrual hypomenorrhea refers to a normal menstrual cycle with each period lasting less than 3 days and blood flow not exceeding 20ml per cycle. The color of the menstrual blood may be pale or dark. Causes of menstrual hypomenorrhea:
1. Hypofunction of the pituitary gland, leading to insufficient estrogen secretion by the ovaries, which results in inadequate endometrial proliferation.
2. Inflammation of the uterus itself, poor endometrial development, endometrial tuberculosis, or damage to the endometrium caused by rough curettage.
3. Individual differences. Generally speaking, it is advisable to wait at least 1 year after an induced abortion before getting pregnant. In special cases, waiting for at least one year is recommended before attempting pregnancy.
