Features: Any literary phenomenon is a product of human cultural consciousness, and human cultural consciousness originates from productive labor and social life. Because of the existence of unfairness and cruelty in society, there emerged chivalrous deeds and chivalrous individuals, leading to the circulation of chivalrous and public case stories, and thus chivalrous and public case novels were born. Looking at the history of ancient Chinese fiction development, chivalrous and public case novels, as well as the chivalrous-public case novels formed by the fusion of these two genres, underwent a gradual process of formation, maturation, and development. Due to their differences in content, themes, and expressive techniques, these three categories—chivalrous novels, public case novels, and chivalrous-public case novels—coexist in the world. However, the fusion of chivalrous and public case novels emerged only after chivalrous and public case novels had developed to a certain extent. For the convenience of narration, this book is divided into chapters according to the objective laws of the development of chivalrous novels, public case novels, and chivalrous-public case novels.
