How is it better to treat hydrosalpinx?

Patient's question:

Hydrosalpinx has been present for many years, and treatment has been ongoing throughout this period. Now that I am getting older, I really hope to have my own child as soon as possible, so I am quite anxious. Could you please advise on the best treatment for hydrosalpinx?

Doctor's answer:

Hydrosalpinx refers to the accumulation of mucosal cell secretions within the lumen of the fallopian tube following tubitis or due to adhesions causing self-locking. Alternatively, it may occur when tubitis recurs, leading to adhesions at the isthmus and fimbriae, which subsequently block the tube and form tubal pus. When the pus cells in the lumen are digested, a watery liquid is obtained.
The traditional treatment for this condition is tubal ostomy. It is advisable to undergo a contrast examination at the hospital for a precise diagnosis and symptomatic treatment. If the amount of hydrosalpinx is relatively small, conservative treatment may be sufficient. However, if the hydrosalpinx is large or has developed into a significant tubo-ovarian cyst, conservative treatment is often ineffective, and surgical intervention should be considered.
