How to treat infertility

Patient's question:

I got married last year. Recently, I've been experiencing lower abdominal pain, especially during my period. I'm very worried about it affecting my fertility, and I'm also extremely sensitive to cold and coldness. How is infertility treated?

Doctor's answer:

Hello! Azoospermia accounts for the majority of infertility cases. In normal semen, the sperm count is over 20 million/mL. If the sperm count is below 20 million/mL, it is considered azoospermia. Between 5 to 10 million/mL, it is moderate azoospermia; below 5 million/mL, it is severe azoospermia.
Common causes of azoospermia include:
(1) Congenital testicular dysgenesis or cryptorchidism, leading to impaired spermatogenesis
(2) Varicocele, hydrocele of the tunica vaginalis
(3) Inflammation of the reproductive tract
(4) Immunosuppression and endocrine disorders
(5) Chromosomal abnormalities, especially sex chromosome aberrations, which severely interfere with sperm density, motility, and other parameters
(6) Factors such as drugs affecting spermatogenesis, pesticides, heavy metals, radiation, smoking, and alcohol intoxication can all inhibit sperm production.
