Features: Bai Xueshi was born in Beijing in 1915 and has always loved painting since childhood. In 1932, while studying in high school, he received instruction from the flower-and-bird painter Zhao Luozhu. In 1933, he joined the "Hushuo Painting Society." In 1935, he became a disciple of Mr. Liang Shunian and studied landscape painting. In 1942, he joined the "Beijing Painting Research Society" and held joint and solo exhibitions with friends multiple times. In the 1950s, he joined the Beijing Chinese Painting Research Society and taught at the Fine Arts Department of Beijing Normal College. In the 1960s, he joined the China Artists Association. In 1963, he held a joint exhibition with painters such as Zhang Anzhi, Song Wenzhi, and Chen Dayu. From 1964 to 1984, he successively served as a lecturer, associate professor, and professor at the Central Academy of Arts and Crafts. During this period, he traveled multiple times to Guilin, Yangshuo, Huangshan, and Mount Tai for sketching, immersing himself in famous mountains and rivers, learning from nature, and his landscape painting skills gradually matured. From 1977 to 1989, he was invited to paint over 50 large-scale landscape paintings for Zhongnanhai, the Great Hall of the People, the Fisherman's Wharf Hotel, the Central Liaison Department, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Beijing Hotel. He has also visited Japan, Singapore, and other countries to hold exhibitions. He has published works such as "Bai Xueshi Painting Collection," "Selected Works of Bai Xueshi," "Recent Works of Bai Xueshi," as well as books on painting techniques and methods.
