A murder erupts in the remote mountain temple, and the terrifying rumors of the "Murderous Painting" and the "Headless Ghost" spread like wildfire. Just then, a heavy snowfall isolates the small temple, turning it into an information island, yet the chilling events continue to unfold: patients bleeding from the seven orifices, walking corpses, mysterious plants, strange odors—deaths come one after another. All this, combined with the legend of the "Valley of Death," forms a vast web of terror, advancing toward the isolated and helpless Gumu Temple!
Three painters from an art college come up the mountain to sketch and paint. They stay overnight at a dry wood Zen temple. However, when they open a dusty painting sealed for over 20 years, chaos erupts. One plunges off a thousand-foot cliff, another falls ill with a strange condition, and the third risks an adventure down the mountain to report the incident.
Detective Luo Fei receives the report and heads up the mountain to investigate. To his shock, the murder is just the beginning. The heavy snow seals the mountain, cutting off communication between the mountain and the outside world, yet the chilling events continue to unfold. Meanwhile, the rumors of the "Murderous Painting" and the "Headless Ghost" spread through the temple.
After Luo Fei pieces together the complex clues through meticulous reasoning and investigation, the truth comes to light, revealing not only a long-forgotten love story from over 20 years ago but also a chilling murder case.
