Features: Some famous scenic spots in this book are presented in the form of hand-drawn realistic maps, adding to the artistic quality of the atlas. Additionally, place names at or above the county level are provided in both Chinese and English, offering a practical reference for foreign friends studying, working, or traveling in China. To better reflect the conditions of the mapped areas, we have equipped each map with textual descriptions that introduce the mapped regions from historical, natural, climatic, economic, resource, transportation, and tourism perspectives. In terms of layout, the introductory maps are organized by themes such as administrative divisions, topography, transportation, and tourism for a comprehensive overview. The provincial maps section is structured around 34 provincial-level administrative units, with each unit featuring 3-4 selected cities. The provincial maps within each unit are the core of the atlas. Unlike general provincial maps, they use color shading to represent terrain elevation and label major geographical features such as plains, mountains, plateaus, basins, and deserts, providing a more intuitive reflection of the relationship between human socioeconomic activities and nature. The atlas includes 14 famous large-scale scenic spots, placed within the provincial units. To facilitate the search for place names, we have compiled a name index for county-level and above residential areas, arranged in the order of the first pinyin syllable of the Chinese characters of the place names, allowing users to locate the corresponding map. The appendix includes commonly used information such as a brief table of China's ethnic minorities.
