Features: During China's transition from a planned economy to a market economy, a significant feature has been the rise of family-owned enterprises. Numerous studies have shown that the sustained, rapid, and healthy development of family-owned enterprises is one of the key drivers maintaining China's continuous economic growth. Currently, Chinese family-owned enterprises in the entrepreneurship and growth stages predominantly adopt the classical organizational form of family-owned enterprises, where ownership and management are combined. As China's socialist market economy system gradually establishes and improves, how the classical organizational form of family-owned enterprises should develop and evolve is an urgent issue research. The theme of this book is to study the organizational evolution of Chinese family-owned enterprises during the transition period, explore the various influencing factors and their mechanisms, thereby providing theoretical support for the transformation of Chinese family-owned enterprises into modern corporate systems and their network growth during the transition period, and offering relevant policy recommendations to further promote the healthy development of Chinese family-owned enterprises. To this end, this book mainly carries out the following work. First, it summarizes and reviews the basic theories of organizational evolution and the latest theoretical achievements. Second, it analyzes the current development and evolution of Chinese family-owned enterprises during the transition period. Third, it systematically explores the basic factors influencing the organizational evolution of Chinese family-owned enterprises during the transition period and their mechanisms. Fourth, through case analyses of DL Group and the Wenzhou Liushi low-voltage electrical appliance enterprise cluster, the research of this book is made specific and empirical. Fifth, in response to the actual conditions of external market underdevelopment, low social trust levels, and imperfect internal governance structures faced by Chinese family-owned enterprises during the transition period, it proposes policy recommendations such as further standardizing government behavior, establishing and improving a social and legal environment to promote the healthy growth of Chinese family-owned enterprises, creating an external market environment, social trust environment, and internal governance structure, and implementing a development strategy for Chinese family-owned enterprises based on network growth models.
