Small yet refined, practical and pragmatic. In a compact format, we strive to include as much accurate and practical content as possible, which is the guiding principle throughout the compilation process. This dictionary contains nearly 40,000 entries, including Chinese single characters, multi-character entries, compound words, idioms, and more. The selection of entries is primarily based on the practical needs of international exchanges and life, study, and work in Germany, with an emphasis on incorporating new vocabulary and terminology reflecting recent developments in social, political, economic, commercial, legal, technological, and cultural aspects.
The definitions are accurate, with an emphasis on both elegance and practicality. For different meanings and usage contexts of entries, brief Chinese prompts are provided; in German definitions, important grammatical attributes such as strong verbs, perfect tense formation, and case governers are annotated. This is a new attempt in bilingual dictionaries, aimed at facilitating reader usage.
Language is dynamic. This dynamism is reflected in its flexible structure and continuous content updates. To this end, we have included numerous colloquial and idiomatic example sentences in many entries, hoping to inspire readers in the flexible and accurate use of language. At the same time, we will continue to revise and expand the dictionary to keep it at a new level.
