Jianping Li currently serves as the Deputy Director of the Beijing Philosophy and Social Sciences Planning Office and the Vice President and Secretary-General of the Beijing History Research Association. Despite his busy daily administrative duties, he still manages to utilize his spare time to explore Beijing's history and culture, leveraging his expertise in history. His work "The Charm of Beijing's Old City Central Axis and Innovative Urban Development" won the Beijing Outstanding Popular Science Work Award in 2003. Additionally, he was invited to give specialized lectures on CCTV-10's "One Hundred Lectures" program, receiving acclaim and becoming a distinctive expert in the study of ancient Chinese city central axes. His research also covers Beijing's city walls and gates, streets and alleys, siheyuan (traditional courtyard houses), royal gardens, and more.
