Features: Enhancing students' comprehensive qualities and developing their individual strengths cannot be achieved through last-minute cramming or by neglecting practicality and forcing growth. The development of students' intelligence and the improvement of their abilities is a gradual, long-term training process that spirals upward. To support the development of extracurricular mathematical activities in primary schools and provide students with systematic training in mathematical Olympiad content, the authors have organized a team of experienced teachers to write this series. Through the unique "one example, three exercises" format, it helps students systematically master the entire content of mathematical Olympiads, broaden their knowledge horizons, grasp problem-solving methods and techniques, and improve their exam and competition skills. The series aims to embody the following characteristics:
Comprehensive content, spiraling progression. The series divides the entire content of primary school mathematical Olympiads by grade, with 120 topics set for each grade, each topic serving as a training session. It also pays attention to the connection between grades, reflecting levels and gradients.
Rooted in fundamentals, focused on improvement. Following the sequence of common textbooks (such as PEP and Jiangsu Education Press), the topics are designed based on students' actual knowledge structure and cognitive development levels, enabling self-study and extension training after mastering basic textbook knowledge.
One example, three exercises, learn by analogy. For each topic, a "typical problem example" is selected from a vast pool of problems. The "Approach" provides analysis and guidance, while the "Detailed Solution" offers thorough or alternative solutions. The "Tricks" summarize and deepen the knowledge, methods, and techniques related to the example. Three practice problems, "Good Problems for Practice," are set to match the knowledge points of the example, allowing students to complete them independently and cultivate the ability to generalize from specific cases.
Keeping pace with the times, aligned with modern trends. The example and practice problems incorporate recent question types from mathematical competitions across various regions, reflecting timeliness,, openness, exploration, and practicality. They also emphasize close ties to real-life situations, guiding students to learn and apply mathematics in daily life.
During the writing process, this series referred to the essence of similar books, and sincere gratitude is expressed to them. Due to time constraints and the authors' limitations, errors and shortcomings are inevitable. Suggestions and critiques are warmly welcomed.
