Features: The selection of materials in this book mainly comes from three aspects: First, works for beginners, even those with no foundation at all. In terms of understanding, mindset, and expression, they always embody insightful significance; Second, the classic elements of traditional art, which are the timeless and ever-renewing aspects. The importance of these traditions for beginners lies not only in their technical development but also in their intellectual growth. From this understanding, we highlight the key points – which the book considers essential; Third, styles close to art college entrance exams and general painting foundations. They have distinctive expressive characteristics and demonstrate relatively stable general principles, some of which are excellent works, including student pieces. It should be noted that we do not always need to understand the concept of "patterns" in a negative way. Here, they serve as close-range and highly targeted reference materials. The book is divided into two parts – Consciousness Foundation and Technical Foundation – purely for analytical convenience, as many issues cannot be clearly categorized or chaptered.
